Constraints: 2 GKP / 5 DEF / 5 MID / 3 FWD, max 3 per club, total cost within budget. The objective is what the squad's best legal XI would score each week (bench scores nothing), so the cheap-bench, loaded-XI shape emerges by itself. Money must earn its place: a pound is only spent if it buys at least 0.1 points per gameweek, so a premium that returns almost nothing (a £5.0m backup keeper who beats your starter once by 0.1) is refused and banked instead — the Marg column shows what each player's premium actually buys. Solved by seeded local search: greedy and premium-locked starts, repaired into budget, then single swaps and downgrade-funded pair moves until nothing improves. Availability uses current flags; injuries after the horizon starts aren't predicted.
